Daear is a varied world.

♣ An important place is the Temple and surrounding area. It is marked by an orange dot on an island in the Northwest portion of the map.

The temple isn't very large or particularly ornate. It is made of white stone and there are trees all around. In the front there is a small platform next to a short piece of railroad tracks. The tracks are well taken care of and have seen use. If one was not aware of the World Train this might seem odd.

Less than a mile away there is a small village. There are rarely any travelers from other towns. It is a close-knit community and if someone is not recognized they will most likely be assumed to be from another world before just another part of Daear. The electricity is generated primarily by windmills and some have solar panels on their roofs. Few people have home computers and most just use the ones set up in the local library.

The main source of income is the nearby farm. The slightly eccentric owner insists that everything be done by hand. So there are no machines for harvesting, watering, tilling the soil or almost any other task. At least the pay for these jobs is generous.

Behind the temple are crystal trees whose fruit is said to prolong life and heal the sick. These are well guarded by wards and warriors and only those who prove to need it for otherwise incurable conditions will receive it... at a price.
